Meet Our Minister
Welcome From Our Minister

As a teenager I was an outsider. For many reasons I did not fit in! I had few friends, and no self-confidence. Then I discovered the Church, an inclusive group of people. A place where my differences were not ridiculed. I discovered that God loves me for who I am. God invited me on a spiritual journey of discovery and transformation. All this makes me the person I am today.
At Wesley Place we aspire to offer the very best we have to God and the community we serve. We been a Christian presence in Alsager for over 150 years. There are a real mix of people in our community of faith. We have inclusive Methodist Worship and provide a range of activities during the week to support the local community. This includes a variety of groups, meetings and activities for older people, children and their families and young people. We strive to be caring and welcoming. We are all on a journey of faith and discovery.
During the week, Wesley Place people are involved in many activities such as Monday Fun games group, Toddler Group - The Ark, Fellowship Bible Study Groups, Zoom Prayer Group, Walking Fellowship, Bookclub, Wednesday New Guild Fellowship, Thursday Dinner Hub, Coffee Mornings , social events and Youth Clubs (Sparkz and Ablaze) for our younger children and youth. We also have a number of community and local activities that take place on our premises. Our rooms are available for hire. All these activities increase our links with the community – serving others is an important part of our mission.

Sunday morning worship is the foundation of our ministry. Adventurers (children and young people) begin in church, leaving for their own activities and rejoining the older congregation before the end of the service. The evening service is quieter and is a cafe style service on the first Sunday of each month. On Wednesday mornings our coffee and chat includes informal worship and conversation.

All people who work with children and young people are Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked and meet the rigorous Safeguarding Policy of the Methodist Church.
