Meet Our Minister
Welcome From Our Minister
Wesley Place has been at the heart of Alsager for over a 150 years. We are really friendly, have 'big hearted' Methodist Worship and provide a range of activities during the week to support the local community. This includes a variety of groups, meetings and activities for older people, children and their families and young people. We may not be the 'perfect church' but we strive to be caring and welcoming. The Holy Spirit flows through all we do as we seek to make sense of our faith.
During the week, Wesley Place people are involved in many activities such as Monday Fun games group, Toddler Group - The Ark, Tuesday Fellowship, Fellowship Bible Study Groups, Prayer Group, Walking Fellowship, Bookclub, Men’s Breakfast, Coffee Mornings , social events and Youth Clubs (Sparkz and Ablaze) for our younger children and youth. We also have a number of community and local activities that take place on our premises as our rooms are available for hire. All these activities increase our links with the community – serving others is an important part of our mission.
Sunday morning worship is well attended and the Adventurers (children and young people) begin in church, leaving for their own activities and rejoining the congregation before the end of the service. The evening service is quieter, with a smaller congregation and has a cafe style service on the first Sunday of each month. On Wednesday mornings we have a short act of worship.
All people who work with children and young people are Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked and meet the rigorous Safeguarding Policy of the Methodist Church.
